On Sept. 3rd, 2024, the second day of China Composites Expo 2024 (CCE 2024), Automotive Innovation Conference (AIC) will be launched for the seventh year by the Organizing Committee of CCE 2024.
Since 2017, when AIC was launched for the first edition, it has attracted a good stream of visitors and turned out to be the very highlight, which makes CCE an important platform for communication between Composites Industry and Automotive Industry home and abroad. For this year, AIC will continue to introduce those big innovations on products and technologies in automotive composites industry worldwide.
For now, we have invited big carmakers as Audi, Renault, JEEP, Changan Auto, NIO, GEELY, FAW; big Tier 1 suppliers as Faurecia, Voith, Valeo, Frimo, HRC, LG Hausys, Coleitec, Feize, etc; big raw material suppliers as Dupont, Arkema, Hexion, Owens Corning, Covestro, Ineos, Teijin, etc; Manufacturers as Krauss-Maffei, Dieffenbach, Engel, Fagor Arrasate, etc; Institutes as Fraunhofer ICT, ACTC, etc; Organization as VDMA. They will show to the visitors, by displaying innovations and delivering speeches, the current situation and future development of the world automotive composites industry.
We have displayed more than 100 innovative automotive parts on site.

Conference Details:
Abstract:
In 2023, Europe decided to drastically move forward and only authorise new vehicles with zero CO2 emission from 2035. One of the consequences of this choice for vehicle design was that weight reduction was no longer a central issue for carmakers, as a BEV, regardless of its weight, is considered to be a zero CO2 emission vehicle at the vehicle output. Within this context, have composites a good perspective of mass development for the construction of NEVs? The answer is definitely YES. The composites industry has the capacity to offer innovations that go far beyond weight reduction.
Abstract:
In the current era where lightweighting of automobiles is imperative, high-performance composite materials play an increasingly important role in the rapid iteration of new energy vehicle lightweighting technology. The speaker provides an overview of the overall development of the auto industry, combined with the development strategies and policy directions at home and abroad, analyzes the current development status of multi lightweight materials and integrated molding technologies, as well as the technical needs and vehicle planning ideas of mainstream domestic auto enterprises, and explores the new opportunities created by the rapid development of China's new energy vehicles for the global automotive and composite materials industry.
Abstract:
Covestro will launch its new wet transfer molding (WTM) battery cover solution and other PU solutions in new energy vehicle battery packs, including PU composites, PU foam, and adhesives, to create safe, efficient, lightweight, and cost-effective battery packs.
Abstract:
Automotive light-weighting has become a trend in global automotive development, and high-performance CFRPs play an increasingly important role in the process of light-weighting. AOSHENG Hi-Tech adopts diversified methods to optimize the materials and processes of auto parts, and has constructed a high-performance, low-cost, and functionally integrated solution, providing useful reference for future lightweight design of auto parts.
Abstract:
The successful introduction of electrically powered vehicles primarily depends on the performance, durability and safety of the battery systems. The presentation will reveal how Röchling Automotive accomplishes these tasks with fiber-reinforced plastics for battery housing applications and the resulting advantages especially for Battery Cover and Intrusion Protection Plates.
Abstract:
As a global leading supplier of chemicals for the automotive industry, BASF is committed to realizing your vision of electric mobility. As the "heart" of electric transportation, high-performance battery systems are crucial to the success of electric mobility. The innovated STM composite can bring lighter, faster processing, and robust flame retardant to the battery cover, which is suitable for CTP or CTC battery designs.
Abstract:
SGL Carbon has developed a new material and process route for the production of phenolic resin-based components that avoids the typical disadvantages of classic phenolic resin systems. The process developed is suitable for automated large-scale production. Components made from this material meet the high requirements for battery housing components, especially with regard to the combination of pressure, temperature and particle bombardment that occurs during thermal events.
Abstract:
Lightweight construction plays a key role in battery electric vehicles in order to increase efficiency and thus, for example, the range of the vehicles. Due to their very high weight-specific and anisotropic properties, composites can be ideally used to reduce the weight of components. In order to achieve holistic and sustainable solutions, it is important to include the recyclability and energy intensity of the materials used in the evaluation as early as the development of components. The potential and current market trends in the field of fiber-reinforced lightweight solutions are demonstrated using various vehicle components, such as the housing of a traction battery and components of the battery modules.
Abstract:
Westlake supplies essential products that enhance the daily lives of people around the globe. Westlake’s epoxy systems are qualified for production of high-performance pressure tanks. Innovative solutions have been developed to increase productivity and optimize carbon fibre usage. These technologies will be illustrated with practical examples.
