CNBM Group and Chery Deepen Integration of Advanced Materials and Vehicle Manufacturing

WUHU, April 17, 2026 - The China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. (CNBM) and Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. jointly hosted a Product and Technology Exchange Day in Wuhu, focusing on the deep integration of new materials and complete vehicle manufacturing, with both sides showcasing cutting-edge technological achievements.

The event featured 142 exhibits across nine major fields, including fiberglass composites, carbon fiber composites, and advanced glass materials. Concurrently, five thematic technical exchanges were held, covering composite materials, advanced glass materials, ceramic materials, lithium battery materials, and automotive coatings. These sessions addressed core application scenarios such as automotive lightweighting, smart cockpits, three-electric systems (battery, motor, and electronic control), and safety protection.

Previously, CNBM, the municipal administration of Wuhu, and Chery Automobile signed a strategic cooperation agreement. Under this framework, 23 subsidiaries across seven major divisions of CNBM have been efficiently collaborating with Chery in ten key areas, with the construction of a joint laboratory progressing steadily.

Zhou Yuxian, Chairman of CNBM, stated: "New materials are the 'grain' of industry, while automobiles represent the 'crown' of manufacturing. The synergy between our two sectors is a practical step in serving the national strategy of building a manufacturing powerhouse."

The strategic partnership represents a deep integration of material innovation and vehicle manufacturing, encompassing full-spectrum coordination across technology, data, standards, and markets. Together, the two parties aim to develop new energy vehicle products that are lighter, safer, smarter, and lower in carbon, while jointly fostering a new ecosystem for the NEV industry.
