Guangwei Composites Enters Supply Chains for Both Domestic Large Aircraft and High-End Smartphones

WEIHAI, April 16, 2026 - Guangwei Composites Co., Ltd. disclosed significant progress on its investor interaction platform, announcing that the company has formally entered the supply chains for both China's domestic large aircraft program and high-end smartphones. This achievement represents a dual breakthrough for domestic carbon fiber composite materials in the premium aviation and consumer electronics sectors, marking an important step forward in the localization of China's composites industry.

In the domestic large aircraft sector, Guangwei Composites stated that one of its carbon fiber products and one of its prepreg products have received approval from Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), making the company an official supplier of airframe structures for China's indigenous large passenger aircraft. Additionally, another carbon fiber product has successfully entered the supply chain for cold-section composite components of a commercial aviation engine currently under development, including key parts such as fan blades and housings.

These approvals signify that Guangwei Composites has passed COMAC's stringent qualified supplier certification system, completing an important transition from research and development support to commercial mass production supply. The company will provide critical material support for the large-scale production of China's domestic large aircraft, contributing to the self-reliant and controllable development of China's aviation industry.

Regarding its presence in the 3C electronics sector, Guangwei Composites confirmed that it is already supplying customized carbon fiber and prepreg materials in mass production for high-end smartphones. At the same time, the company is actively developing related composite structural components to further expand the application scenarios of carbon fiber in consumer electronics. Although the company did not disclose specific smartphone brand partners, industry observers widely speculate that its products have entered the supply chains of leading high-end smartphone manufacturers, opening a new avenue for performance growth.
