BAOTOU, China, April 21, 2026 – Baotou Shenglin Xuanxian Technology Co., Ltd. has officially commenced construction on its annual production project of 30,000 tons of continuous basalt fiber and 40,000 tons of high-performance composite materials.

The project represents a total planned investment of RMB 3 billion. Upon full completion, it is expected to generate an annual output value of RMB 1.6 billion. The construction will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase focusing on raw material drawing and composite product research and development.

Basalt fiber is widely recognized as a “green advanced material of the 21st century.” Made from natural basalt rock, it offers exceptional properties including high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, excellent weatherability, electrical insulation, non-magnetic characteristics, and environmental friendliness. These attributes make it suitable for a broad range of applications in aerospace, defense and military, rail transportation, and new energy equipment.

Once fully operational, the facility will become the largest basalt fiber research, development, and manufacturing base in Northwest China. It will help strengthen the regional supply chain for advanced materials and provide critical material support for high-end equipment in sectors such as aerospace and wind power generation.
