QINGDAO, China, April 2026 – Haier's exoskeleton robot, the W3, made its public debut at the 2026 Qingdao Marathon, attracting a large number of sports enthusiasts eager to experience the device firsthand.

From exoskeleton robotics to household assistants, and from athletic applications to home environments, Haier is continuously expanding the boundaries of “smart living” through technological innovation.

The Haier W3 exoskeleton is constructed with full carbon fiber and titanium alloy, weighing just 1.75 kilograms—making it the lightest AI-powered motion exoskeleton currently available on the market.

In addition to its lightweight design, the W3 features enhanced protective performance. It incorporates non-Newtonian fluid material, which remains soft and form-fitting during regular wear but rapidly stiffens upon impact, forming a cushioning shield that effectively protects the user's joints.

On the intelligent assistance front, the W3 is equipped with AI gait algorithm 3.0 and high-precision sensors, enabling rapid detection of the user’s gait and terrain changes. It automatically adjusts its assistive mode across different surfaces, including flat ground, slopes, and sandy terrain. Specifically for elderly users, Haier has designed a “short-step” mode to help reduce the risk of falls. One on-site tester commented, “Walking feels less effort-consuming with the device on.”
