SHEYANG, China - Zhuzhou Times New Materials has successfully rolled off its independently developed 110-meter high-performance, efficiently dissolvable, and fully recyclable wind turbine blade at its Sheyang wind power blade manufacturing facility. The achievement marks a major breakthrough in large-capacity offshore wind blade technology and green circular material systems, offering a practical and technically robust solution for the industry's low-carbon transition.

The newly launched 110-meter blade adopts a hybrid reinforcement system combining carbon fiber and glass fiber, delivering lightweight construction, high rigidity, and superior power generation efficiency. It integrates a full suite of eco-friendly materials, including recyclable infusion resin, structural adhesive, and hand lay-up resin designed for efficient dissociation. While maintaining excellent mechanical properties-high strength, stiffness, and fatigue resistance-the blade enables efficient separation of resin and fiber after decommissioning, effectively overcoming the long-standing industry challenges of difficult recycling and high disposal costs associated with traditional thermoset composites.
The successful development of this blade represents a significant step forward in the industry’s ability to design and mass-produce large-capacity recyclable wind blades. Leveraging reversible chemical dissociation technology, the blade allows efficient material separation under mild conditions. The depolymerized and recovered resin can be directly reused in products such as hand lay-up resin and epoxy flooring. Meanwhile, the recycled glass fiber retains over 90% of its original strength and can be widely applied in glass fiber mats, anti-crack mortar, and other industrial uses.
This technological pathway substantially reduces solid waste disposal pressures from decommissioned blades and lowers the carbon footprint throughout the product life cycle. It aligns with China's “dual carbon” strategic goals and meets stringent international environmental regulations, including the EU’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD). The blade offers a safer, more eco-friendly, and more competitive solution for large-capacity offshore wind turbines.
From onshore to deep-sea wind farms, and from single-material recyclability to full-system material synergy, Times New Materials continues to drive green development through technological innovation. The company is committed to advancing the R&D and industrial application of high-performance, lightweight, long-life, and recyclable wind blades, contributing practical solutions to the global energy transition and supporting a green, low-carbon, and high-quality future for the wind power industry.
