The United Soybean Board (USB) is a U.S. farmer-funded organization working with industry to commercialize industrial applications using soybean derivatives from soy oil, meal and hulls. Technical experts will discuss the advantages of soy-based chemistry, including performance, cost and sustainability. Examples will include thermoset plastics from unsaturated polyester resins using soy oil, and thermoplastics using soy meal and hulls. New uses of soy polyols for polyurethane composites will also be shown. Today, manufacturers are turning to soy as a renewable resource for raw materials for a cost advantage with increased productivity, quality surface finish, and to produce light-weight composites.
