A seminar, chaired by Pro. Deng Zongquan, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, also director of the Center, was held between the two sides. Those attending the seminar also included Pro. Gao Haibo, dean of the School of Mechatronics Engineering.


Pro. Guo Hongwei, School of Mechatronics Engineering, introduced the achievement of Pro. Deng Zongquan’s team on major national programs including moon exploration, manned space flight, deep space exploration, etc., stressing the urgency for lightweight materials in foldable aerospace structures, rails and other domains.

Liu Jiaqiu, director of the second business department, Harbin FRP Institute, briefed the technological advantages and achievements of the Institute on lightweight aerospace structures.

Following in-depth discussion on advanced process & equipment, complex structure process & technology, lightweight materials, and many other areas imbedding potential for cooperation, the two sides reached a preliminary consensus on an array of scientific fronts.

In wake of the consensus, the two sides signed a bilateral strategic cooperation agreement based on the principle of leveraging highly-complementary strength, sharing resources, highlighting efficiency and win-win cooperation. The two side agreed to integrate respective technological strength, closely follow national strategy and planning, concentrate on mechanism design of aerospace equipment and development of key composite processes/equipment, in response to national requirements on various fields including aerospace and defense.
