March 11, 2026 – China National Building Material Group Co., Ltd. (CNBM) simultaneously held global launch events for its SYT80 (T1200 grade) ultra-high strength carbon fiber at its Beijing headquarters, Lianyungang production base, and Paris, France, officially announcing that its subsidiary Zhongfu Shenying has achieved engineering-scale mass production of the product. This groundbreaking technological feat, delivering a tensile strength of 8,000 MPa and marking a world first, signifies that China's high-performance carbon fiber industry has reached internationally advanced levels, providing robust support for cultivating new quality productive forces and strengthening the nation's manufacturing capabilities.



The newly unveiled SYT80 (T1200 grade) ultra-high strength carbon fiber is hailed as the world's strongest material on earth. With a single filament diameter just one-tenth that of a human hair, a tensile strength ten times that of ordinary steel, and a density only one-quarter that of steel, the material exhibits exceptional mechanical properties, including high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and fatigue resistance. A 12K small-tow carbon fiber bundle consists of 12,000 individual filaments; a finger-thick bundle of this material can lift an aircraft weighing approximately 80 metric tons. Leveraging these superior properties, the carbon fiber can be widely applied in national strategic fields and civilian scenarios such as deep space exploration, aerospace, low-altitude economy, humanoid robotics, and new energy, providing critical support for the upgrading of high-end manufacturing industries.
At the launch event, Chen Qiufei, General Manager of Zhongfu Shenying, stated: “The core breakthrough of the SYT80 (T1200 grade) carbon fiber lies in our sub-nanometer-scale molecular structure defect control technology, which has enabled the mass production preparation of this grade of carbon fiber. This hundred-ton-scale mass production means that this cutting-edge new material will no longer be a ‘luxury’ confined to laboratories, but will become a ‘common commodity’ serving global economic development, providing reliable support for fields such as aerospace and the low-altitude economy, and truly empowering industrial progress and improving people’s livelihoods with high-end materials.”
The mass production of T1200 grade carbon fiber not only represents a core technological breakthrough but also completes the entire industrial chain loop of “mass production - cost reduction - application.”
In terms of application strategy, the product adopts a dual-engine model of “national strategy + civilian consumption.” In the aerospace sector, it has achieved full coverage of commercial solid rocket motor casing supplies. In the civilian domain, efforts are underway to drive technological application downstream to civilian carbon fiber production, collaborating with industry leaders in new energy, sporting goods, and other sectors, while actively expanding into emerging application arenas such as the low-altitude economy and humanoid robotics, thereby ensuring that technological advancements better benefit the public.
