ZHANGJIAGANG, China, May 15 - ZYPEEK has announced plans to construct a new, large-scale production facility for polyether ether ketone (PEEK) high-performance polymer and its raw materials, representing a total planned investment of approximately ¥1.2 billion.

In a late evening announcement on May 14, the company disclosed its plan to build an integrated project at the Yangtze River Chemical Industrial Park in Zhangjiagang, Jiangsu Province. The new facility will have an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons of PEEK polymer materials and 2,000 tons of PEEK raw materials.

Speaking on May 15, a representative from the company’s Board of Directors Office confirmed that ZYPEEK’s current designed production capacity stands at 1,000 tons per year, which consistently operates at full capacity with complete sell-through. The growing market demand has necessitated the expansion.

"The new 10,000-ton facility, once fully operational, will bring our total PEEK production capacity to 11,000 tons per year," the representative stated. The project is expected to have a construction period of approximately 2-3 years, to be implemented in two or three phases. Production capacity will be released gradually in a step-by-step manner.

When explaining the selection of Zhangjiagang over other locations, the Board Office representative highlighted several key factors: "Firstly, Changchun in Jilin Province currently lacks suitable industrial land to accommodate our large-scale production needs. Secondly, with our existing subsidiaries in Shanghai and Shenzhen, Zhangjiagang’s proximity to Shanghai offers better access to end-consumer markets. This new location will result in a shorter supply chain distance and reduced delivery times. After comprehensive evaluation, we selected Zhangjiagang as the site for our new project."

Upon completion, the project is expected to significantly expand ZYPEEK’s PEEK production capacity and further consolidate the company's leading position in the PEEK materials sector.
