In contrast, the newly serial-produced monolithic composite leaf spring from Times New Materials is fabricated from thermosetting resin reinforced with fiberglass, utilizing a compression-molding technique.
Compared with conventional steel counterparts or multi-leaf composite configurations, the monolithic composite leaf spring offers a substantially reduced packaging footprint and a weight saving of 60–70%. This mass reduction directly contributes to enhanced vehicle fuel efficiency and facilitates more convenient assembly, disassembly, and maintenance operations.
The composite leaf spring is inherently free from inter-leaf friction noise, delivering superior NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness) characteristics. It also demonstrates robust resistance to corrosive media—including acids, alkalis, and oils—as well as to hygrothermal aging. With applicability spanning passenger cars, light buses, light-duty trucks, and heavy-duty trucks, the component markedly improves ride stability and ride comfort, thereby elevating the overall driving and passenger experience.
