GUANGZHOU, June 25 - Nippon Paint, a globally leading coatings manufacturer, signed a strategic investment agreement on June 25 with the Guangzhou Development District and Huangpu District authorities, formalizing the establishment of its Southern China Automotive Coatings Production Base. The project entails a total investment of RMB 1 billion and is expected to reach an annual output value of RMB 6 billion at full operational capacity, with a primary focus on the production and distribution of high-performance automotive coatings and waterborne paint systems.

A subsidiary of Singapore-headquartered Nipsea Group, Nippon Paint ranks among the world's premier coatings suppliers, with global sales of USD 11.844 billion in 2025, securing the No. 4 position worldwide and the No. 1 position in Asia. Automotive coatings represent a strategic pillar of Nippon Paint's business portfolio, encompassing integrated coating system development, manufacturing, sales, and technical services for the automotive sector. The company's existing customer base in China spans Japanese, Chinese, Korean, and European passenger vehicle OEMs, new-energy vehicle manufacturers, as well as truck and commercial vehicle producers.

With the new production base now officially sited in the Guangzhou Development District, Nippon Paint will reinforce its commitment to end-to-end automotive coating solutions—from R&D and formulation to manufacturing, sales, and after-sales support.
